Statewide Databases
The Edgartown Free Public Library and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners provide free access to several online databases. These databases connect you with a vast range of materials, from scholarly journals, to newspaper archives, to financial, medical and scientific information. Through the MBLC, you have access to several databases, including the following list: Gale, Gale OneFile, Encyclopedia Britannica, The Boston Globe, Transparent Languages, and more. Please contact us for assistance.

Patrons also have access to photographs, manuscripts, books, audio recordings, and other materials of historical interest that have been digitized and made available by members of Digital Commonwealth, a statewide consortium of libraries, museums, archives, and historical societies from across Massachusetts.
